The Conception of The Bold—how Fat Frames came to be.

While architecture gives us the spaces we live and work in, fashion is constructed to give us wearable art.

For decades, studio founder Walker McKinley‘s signature trademark has been his choice of expressive eyewear. In pursuit of the perfect frame, he came to the fast realization that what he was looking for didn’t exist. And if what you want does not exist, you create it. His vision: to make fashion-forward eyewear without compromised weight and affordability.

After travelling the world in pursuit of a craftsman who could meet his desired specifications, Walker found himself in Seoul, South Korea. Inspired by the distinctive Korean fashion styles, cultural trends, and their innovative designs, he returned home to Canada with the perfect frame and Fat Frames was born.

Fast forward to today and now Fat Frames has grown from its original signature style to include a range of different frames and lens options, including blue light lenses and sunglasses. With continuous growing national recognition, Fat Frames empowers the people who wears them to express their individuality. Because you never influence the world trying to be like it.
