about the role
McKinley Studios continues to grow. We are looking for Senior Architects to join our Vancouver and Calgary studios. The Senior role has a broad range of tasks and requirements and can be shaped by the successful applicant.
In addition to leading the project delivery and execution aspects of key projects, the Senior architect will play a key role in the growth and development of the team and will have a unique opportunity to shape the company. Experience: 10+ years of experience with large-scale mixed-use, multi-family and hospitality projects
Location: Calgary, AB + Vancouver, BC
Hours: Full-time (core hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm)
Remote eligible: No
Travel: As required for projects
about you
You are a humanist. You excel as a collaborator and are an expert in leading project teams with creativity, clarity and practicality. The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading complex mixed-use high-rise typologies. Experience in the hospitality sector is an asset. The Senior architect will exhibit highly developed soft skills, particularly in client management and AHJ and consultant coordination. Additionally, you are a proven leader and dedicated to mentorship and team growth and are driven to creating disproportionate impact in our world.
your qualifications & skills
10+ years of experience with large scale mixed-use, multi-family and hospitality projects
Exceptional design acumen and nuanced design sensibility
Technical expertise required to support the architectural expression of projects
Are software-agnostic but at minimum proficient in Microsoft suites including MS Projects, Adobe suites, Revit, Sketchup on a Windows platform
Are a critical and strategic thinker enabling you to become our client’s strategic partner
Proven experience in multi-family and/or hospitality sectors
Proven experience in high-rise typologies
A degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in Architecture
Must be registered or eligible to be registered with the AIBC
